I learned that giving young people the opportunity in an early stage to be able to experience a full day in the work life of a person in a leadership position gives them the ability to experience if what they aspire in their future career is in sync with reality.

The fact of being 'shadowed' for a day helps you reflect on how 'inclusive' you need to be towards the 'Leader-for-a-day'. It also helps you express the true value of the company throughout your day, so pushes you to be relevant in everything you say or do.

I am very hopeful because for the first time the entrepreneurial landscape is illuminated by “digital natives”. They seem to be very enthusiastic and ready to start working, whether they want to create their own company or not. This enthusiasm even increases from the moment they get a greater insight in the numerous challenges ahead.

“Leaders for a Day is an excellent initiative in which I very much enjoyed participating. It was inspiring to spend the day with such an energetic and curious young entrepreneur, who was very eager to learn about AmCham EU as well as about what it means to lead a successful organization.

The other day I had the opportunity to get in touch with Pabiola Dushi, a young brilliant Albanian student, to be submersed in our daily business environment. She was selected to participate in Leaders-for-a-Day initiative organised by Junior Achievement organisation, whose purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

It was great to take part in this initiative and meet young people at the outset of their careers. We share the diagnostic: everyone needs to learn the entire lifetime, regularly change jobs and think beyond borders.

As usual in the business sector, 3 days before Simona’s arrival my schedule had changed completely! And instead of a relatively peaceful day, the day of Leaders-for-a-Day became very hectic!
